Addition Follows Firms’ Collaboration in High-Profile Litigation Win

Womble Bond Dickinson is expanding its Patent Prosecution and Litigation practice with five lawyers from Moyles IP, a boutique firm focused on protecting the IP rights of domestic and international clients in the advanced manufacturing, medical device, oil and gas, consumer products, durable medical equipment, machine learning software, communications, and electronics sectors. Lisa Moyles leads the group consisting of Jason Rockman, Janelle O’Neill, Jason Radachy, and Bradley Shelowitz. The team will be based in the firm’s New York, Raleigh, N.C., and Washington, D.C., offices.

“Many of our attorneys have worked with this talented team over the years and have seen their incredible ability to counsel clients in all forms of intellectual property, including patent and trademark prosecution, licensing, and litigation strategy,” said Preston Heard, leader of the firm’s Patent Prosecution & Litigation practice group. “Lisa and her team have a robust client base with an international presence, and this addition further establishes the firm as a top-notch provider of intellectual property legal services.”

With a long-standing history of collaboration as co-counsel, Womble Bond Dickinson and Moyles IP have a proven track record of effectively representing clients in complex patent cases. Earlier this week, the two firms secured a defensive verdict on behalf of client DynaEnergetics in a case before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, marking their third favorable defense verdict in six years in Texas courts.

“Womble has an excellent reputation as a full-service transatlantic law firm with a particularly robust IP and litigation practice,” said Moyles. “My colleagues and I are excited to join a firm that shares our collaborative and hands-on approach to client service. We look forward to introducing our clients to the strength of the firm’s highly regarded attorneys in other disciplines.”

Womble’s Patent Prosecution & Litigation practice consists of more than 100 attorneys, patent agents, and science and technical advisors who assist clients in protecting their innovations and leveraging the value of their intellectual property in a competitive marketplace. The group offers a wide range of capabilities, including detailed patent analyses, procurement, and enforcement in all technical areas.

This announcement is the latest in a period of strategic growth for the firm that has included a series of strong hires within the Patent Prosecution & Litigation group, including Andrew Beverina (Of Counsel, Washington, D.C.), Kevin Davis (Of Counsel, Houston), Fabio Marino (Partner, Silicon Valley), Jeff McIntyre (Partner, Washington, D.C.), Rodney Miller (Partner, Atlanta), Brandon Massengill (Of Counsel, Raleigh), and Kristian Sullivan (Of Counsel, Houston).
