Intellectual Property specialist law firm Reddie & Grose is pleased to announce the further expansion of its senior team with the appointment of a new partner, Dr Simon Lud. Simon will join the Electrical, Electronics and Software Practice, working out of the Munich office.

Simon joins the team from Maiwald Intellectual Property, where he became a partner in 2018. He specialises in telecommunications and information technologies, automotive technologies, Industry 4.0 as well as computer-implemented inventions. He also has particular expertise in IoT, 3D printing and semiconductor technology and electronics, the latter being the subject of his doctorate.

Having secured his doctoral degree from the Walter Schottky Institute of the Technical University of Munich in 2009, Simon studied at the California Nanosystems Institute before beginning his patent attorney studies at the University of Hagen in 2010. He became a qualified German patent attorney in 2013 and was admitted to practice as a European patent attorney in 2015.

Simon’s professional activities have covered patent prosecution, enforcement of granted IP rights as well as opposition and appeal proceedings. His work has also involved evaluating and challenging the intellectual property rights of third parties. He is a native German speaker and fluent in English and French.
