Two talented, young patent attorneys have been promoted to the partnership at European intellectual property firm, Withers & Rogers, as part of its ongoing strategic expansion. The newly promoted partners are Helen Henderson and Nicola Anderson, who joined the firm in 2011 and 2008 respectively.
Fiona McBride, Chair and Partner at Withers & Rogers and a member of CITMA, said: “A key strand of our strategy involves the development of talented people; creating rewarding career paths in their sectors of choice. Both Helen and Nicola’s promotions are demonstrations of our continued success in creating a supportive and rewarding culture for everyone.”
With a doctorate in neuroendocrinology, Henderson qualified as a UK and European Patent Attorney in 2010 and joined Withers & Rogers a year later. Since then, she has played an integral role in the expansion of the firm’s Life Sciences and Chemistry group and has a special interest in all fields of modern biotechnology, including cell and gene therapy. She also heads up the firm’s Higher Education sector group.
Anderson has a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and qualified as a UK Patent Attorney in 2012 and a European Patent Attorney in 2015. She has extensive experience in advising clients in the transportation and packaging sectors and leads the firm’s Rail sector group. Anderson is known for her editorial contributions to Freight Industry Times and Transportation & Logistics International.
Fiona added: “Having launched our Paris office last year, and strengthened our team in Munich too, this year we are once again focusing on strengthening the UK-based partnership. Helen and Nicola are both deserving and welcome additions. Our international clients increasingly look to us to give them strategic, multi-jurisdictional advice about their intellectual property, and our pan-European footprint means we are ready to meet their needs.”
