Former patent examiner and federal clerk brings deep IP expertise in cutting-edge technologies

Based in Palo Alto, Kapoor brings extensive experience in patent litigation, post-grant proceedings, and patent prosecution, further bolstering PierFerd’s renowned IP team.
Kapoor’s technical expertise spans a wide range of industries, including artificial intelligence, computer-implemented technologies, and medical devices. His unique background includes serving as a former patent examiner at the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and clerking for a federal judge, giving him exceptional insight into patent prosecution and high-stakes IP litigation.
Kapoor is licensed to practice in California, Florida, New Jersey, and before the USPTO. His multilingual capabilities – with fluency in Hindi, Punjabi, and Gujarati – further enhance his ability to serve a diverse client base.
His appointment – joining PierFerd’s highly talented IP department led by Co-Chairs Christopher R Kinkade and Naira Simmons is the latest expansion of PierFerd’s capabilities in the sector, allowing the firm to offer enhanced strategic counsel to clients, especially in the fast-growing fields of AI and biomedical innovation.
Kapoor holds a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering and a JD with a concentration in IP.
