March 10, 2025 – DenverQuarles & Brady LLP announced today that Dan Young has been named Denver office managing partner and office chair of the Intellectual Property Practice Group. In both roles, he succeeds Ian Saffer, who will continue his practice with the firm.

Young joined Adsero IP in 2014; the intellectual property (IP) boutique firm became part of Quarles in 2023.

“Dan has played an integral role in the combination of our firms and spurring our growth in Denver over the past two years,” said Mike Aldana, firm managing partner and chair of the executive committee. “He is a highly respected IP litigator and has a long-standing reputation for outstanding client service. Under his leadership, I’m confident we will build even more momentum in Colorado.”

A US Army veteran, Young has advised clients on IP protection for a wide range of technologies for more than 20 years, and his practice focuses on all aspects of IP law. His many recognitions include being named Best Lawyers in America “Lawyer of the Year” (Litigation – Patent) in 2024 and selected to IAM Patent 1000 Colorado (Litigation) in 2024.

He earned a B.S. from the United States Military Academy West Point and J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to help build on the success our Denver team had established under Ian’s leadership,” Young said. “We have a tremendous group of attorneys and business professionals here, and all of them are committed to our long-term growth in Colorado and beyond, in collaboration with our Quarles colleagues across the country.
