Harter Secrest & Emery elects three new partners

Rochester, New York, January 2, 2025 – Harter Secrest & Emery LLP, a full-service business law firm with offices throughout New York, is pleased to announce that Jessica N Clemente from the firm’s Intellectual Property practice, Jonathan R Jasinski from the firm’s Corporate practice, and Margaret K Rhoda from the firm’s Securities and Capital Markets practice have been elected partners in the firm.

Clemente works with clients to develop, protect, assert, and defend intellectual property rights by taking a pragmatic and decisive value-added approach. Highly regarded for her creative problem-solving, her experience also includes representing inventors, manufacturers, and technology companies on a wide range of claims relating to patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets matters in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Clemente was awarded the Rochester Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” award in 2022 and was a Finalist for the ATHENA International Young Professional Award. She has been recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America for Commercial Litigation, Litigation – Intellectual Property, and Intellectual Property Law. She earned a B.A., cum laude, from SUNY Geneseo and her J.D., summa cum laude, from Albany Law School.

Jasinski represents private and public companies in mergers and acquisitions, corporate formations and dissolutions, contract reviews, and general corporate matters. He has extensive experience in corporate governance, financial services regulation, and CFIUS filings. Jasinski also has extensive experience representing private equity funds, portfolio companies, venture capital funds, and venture-backed companies. He was recognized as an “Up and Coming Lawyer” in The Daily Record and Rochester Business Journal’s 2023 Legal Excellence Awards and has been recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America for Corporate Governance and Compliance Law, Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions Law, and Venture Capital Law. Rhoda has served as outside corporate secretary for public companies and as a trusted counselor in the boardroom.
