London, January 12, 2026 – EIP today announces the launch of Visser AI®, a patent service delivered by a specialist team of patent attorneys supported by artificial intelligence (AI) tools.

Visser AI applies a different service model across patent work, including drafting and prosecution. The team combines legal and technical expertise with software developed to support document preparation, analysis, and workflow management. The aim is to improve consistency, reduce turnaround times, and control costs.

A core part of the model is EIP’s forward-deployed patent attorneys, who work directly with clients to design and implement bespoke AI workflows tailored to specific technical and commercial needs.

The service is named after Derk Visser, former partner at EIP and a leading authority on patent law, reflecting the firm’s focus on practical, high-quality client work.

“Visser AI changes how we deliver patent services,” said Laurence Brown, Head of Visser AI and Partner at EIP. “We use technology to support our attorneys, not replace them. This allows us to work more efficiently while maintaining the level of quality our clients expect.”

The service is powered by Patently®, a system designed specifically for patent work. It supports drafting, document handling, and portfolio management, enabling the team to tailor work to each client’s needs.

Clients transferring pending patent applications in Europe and the United States to EIP can reduce costs by up to 30%, alongside time savings.

Visser AI is delivered by a dedicated team, including Laurence Brown, Gemma Martynwood, Callum Docherty, Felix Hall, Chris Curry, and Filip Jorgensen.
