London, November 6, 2025 – EIP, the international patent law firm, is proud to celebrate its 25th anniversary this month, marking a quarter-century of innovation, collaboration, and leadership in patents and intellectual property (IP).
Founded in 2000, EIP set out to be a firm where IP matters, and it took a bold approach to combine the expertise of patent attorneys, litigators, and technical specialists within a single practice, a model that was rare in the early 2000s but has since become the benchmark of best-in-class IP practice. This collaborative structure has allowed the firm to provide clients with a full-service offering across every aspect of the IP lifecycle, from drafting and prosecution through to commercial IP strategy and litigation. The close collaboration between its legal and technical teams sees EIP tackle complex and high-stakes matters.
Jerome Spaargaren, Founder and Partner, EIP, said, “When we founded EIP, our purpose was to build a firm with a sharp focus on both patent litigation and technological innovation. I am proud of what has been achieved in the last 25 years, and whilst some of the ways in which we operate may have changed, our purpose and vision have not. EIP has always been a firm that innovates and challenges the market, and I am looking forward to the next 25 years!”
Since its launch, EIP has expanded across Europe and the USA, reflecting the growing demand for its services. Its presence in other markets enables EIP to offer efficient, effective, and high-quality advice across jurisdictions. This has been particularly valuable in its transatlantic work and in the Unitary Patent Court (UPC), where the firm has handled some of the first complex cross-border Standard Essential Patent (SEP) cases, demonstrating its ability to manage cutting-edge IP litigation at an international level.
In the past 25 years, the firm’s emphasis on teamwork and recognition of individual contribution has remained unwavering and central to its culture. By fostering an environment where diverse skills and perspectives are recognized and celebrated, EIP has cultivated a workplace that supports both innovation and long-term client relationships.
Magnus Halin, CEO, said, “The coming years will see EIP continue to push boundaries. Our work across multiple sectors, jurisdictions, and in the UPC demonstrates the strength of our integrated approach and our ability to achieve stand-out results for clients. With our talented team, from patent attorneys to litigators and operations personnel who keep the wheels spinning, the firm is uniquely positioned to maintain its market-leading position, embrace new challenges, and continue to set the standard for excellence in IP services worldwide.”
