DALLAS – February 26, 2025 – Cozen O’Connor today announced up-and-coming litigator Michael Pomeroy has joined its award-winning Intellectual Property practice, further enhancing the firm’s IP presence in Texas, one of the busiest patent litigation venues in the country. Pomeroy, who joins Cozen O’Connor’s Dallas office as a member, will work alongside international IP litigator and strategist Bradley D Liddle, who joined the firm last summer.
A former partner with Carter Arnett PLLC, Pomeroy focuses his practice on all stages of patent litigation, including patent licensing, infringement analysis, and inter partes review (IPR) proceedings — where his track record includes winning more than 70 percent of IPRs at the institution stage on behalf of the patent owner.
Most recently, he represented Plano, Texas-based G+ Communications in a 5G Standard Essential Patent Case against international tech giant Samsung. A jury in Marshall, Texas, awarded $67.5M against Samsung, finding that it infringed two wireless network patents owned by G+ Communications.
“Patent litigation increased in the United States last year, and Texas’ Eastern and Western Districts ranked as the top two venues for patent cases,” said Camille M Miller, chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice. “Adding a highly experienced and successful Texas-based IP litigator like Michael to our Dallas office is, therefore, a major win for our practice and our clients. He’s managed every aspect of IP litigation — from creating detailed due diligence analyses on patent infringement, validity, and damages to representing major corporate clients in the courtroom. He’s a terrific addition to the firm, and I’m thrilled to welcome him to Cozen O’Connor.”
“Michael’s no stranger to conducting detailed IP legal research and then crafting sophisticated legal strategies,” said Suzanne C Radcliff, managing partner of the Dallas office. “A rising star in our profession, his track record speaks for itself — he’s represented major clients in challenging patent cases, often before juries, and succeeded. I’m pleased to welcome him to the Dallas office, and I am confident that our clients will share this sentiment.”
Recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch (2023, 2024); Super Lawyers: Rising Stars (2023, 2024); and Patexia Top 10 Inter Partes Review Attorney on Behalf of Patent Owner (2024); Pomeroy brings deep subject-matter knowledge in a range of global industries, including cellular transmission, semiconductor, networking, LED, medical device, and electric vehicle technologies, among others. Prior to going to law school, he earned an MS in biology at The University of Texas in San Antonio; and a BS in neurobiology at The University of Texas in Austin. He also studied mechanical engineering at Ohio State University.
“I can’t tell you how excited I am to be joining Cozen O’Connor. This is a cutting-edge firm with an outstanding reputation, particularly in the growing IP space,” Pomeroy said. “Our international footprint, combined with full-scope legal resources that are virtually unmatched, makes this the perfect place to serve my clients and continue to build my IP practice. I’m very happy to be here, and I’m looking forward to working with my new colleagues.”
