Fostering collaboration between IP and R&D teams to improve operational efficiency
London, UK, September 30, 2026 – Clarivate Plc (NYSE: CLVT), a leading global provider of transformative intelligence, announced today that Topcon Corporation (Topcon) has selected IPfolio as its intellectual property (IP) management solution.
IPfolio will enable Topcon to manage its IP operations from a centralized cloud-based platform, moving from an on-premises management system. Topcon is a global leader in technology that addresses societal challenges in healthcare, agriculture and infrastructure, and uses Clarivate’s annuity services through its Japanese agent, NGB.
Simon Webster, President, Intellectual Property, Clarivate, said: “We are proud to offer Topcon our leading IP management solution, which integrates data and services to reduce friction, improve collaboration, and enable informed decision-making. We look forward to working with Topcon to unlock the full potential of its IP, with exciting new enhancements to our IPfolio, including cutting-edge AI capabilities.”
By implementing IPfolio, Topcon will enhance its IP management capabilities with a comprehensive approach that combines cloud-native software, high-quality data, and expert services. The shift from on-premises IP systems to cloud-based platforms will facilitate a closer connection between IP management and research and development (R&D).
For the first time, both the IP and R&D teams will be able to easily access and leverage a wide range of IP data, including invention disclosures and patent information, intuitive dashboards, and reporting tools, fostering greater operational efficiency and stronger collaboration.
By leveraging IPfolio’s future innovations, including advanced AI-powered capabilities, Topcon will be well-positioned to maximize the value of its IP and accelerate growth across the organization.
