The coast-to-coast expansion of ArentFox Schiff’s nationally recognized Intellectual Property practice continues with the addition of Partner Ehsun Forghany in the San Francisco office.

Forghany’s arrival follows the recent addition of a 17-member IP and Litigation group in Boston.

Forghany brings a decade of experience litigating patents and IP-related disputes in federal courts and administrative proceedings, including before the US International Trade Commission and the US Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board. A seasoned trial attorney, Forghany has successfully tried over 20 cases to verdict and argued more than 50 case-dispositive motions, helping clients secure multi-million-dollar verdicts at trial and defend them on appeal.

With a background in industrial design, Forghany also provides business-focused counsel to clients in the fashion and retail, engineering, medical device, and consumer products sectors. He advises clients on risk-reduction strategies during product development and is known for curating creative and comprehensive IP protection for commercialized product designs.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ehsun to the team. His impressive litigation track record and deep knowledge of the design patent landscape will be important assets as we continue to expand our top IP practice nationwide, with a focus on leading innovation hubs like Silicon Valley,” said Janine A Carlan, Partner and IP Litigation Practice Group Co-Leader.

Outside of his practice, Forghany regularly lectures on design patent law at law schools and conferences nationwide.

Forghany joins ArentFox Schiff from Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP and, prior to that, served as a Deputy District Attorney for Contra Costa County.
