March 7, 2024, Reston, VA — Ambrose, Mills & Lazarow, PLLC, a boutique law firm that focuses on corporate and intellectual property law, is pleased to announce that Yuan Liang has joined the firm’s IP Group as a partner.
Liang brings more than a decade of experience in the IP field. He joins AML from a nationally ranked IP boutique and previously practiced at an Am Law 50 firm where he honed his skills on a broad range of patent matters. Liang has extensive experience with post-grant proceedings at the US Patent and Trademark Office and was recognized as among the 100 best attorneys representing petitioners in Patexia’s 2022 IPR Intelligence Report. He has also successfully litigated several high-stakes, bet-the-company patent disputes to their conclusion.
“Yuan is deeply experienced in a wide range of technologies, ranging from computer hardware and software to medical devices, and has handled a variety of matters for some of Silicon Valley’s biggest brands,” said John Mills, a founding partner of AML and chair of its IP Group. “His arrival will expand the capabilities we offer our IP clients.”
Liang responded: “I worked with John earlier in my career and am looking forward to this opportunity to help grow the IP Group at AML. Having practiced at larger firms, I believe there’s a market for small and nimble firms that can provide the same level of talent and skillset as the larger firms but with a laser focus on the client.”
Liang earned his JD from Harvard Law School and holds an AB in physics, summa cum laude, from Dartmouth College where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa. While in law school, he served as president of the Harvard Law Poker Strategic Thinking Society, and while a student at Dartmouth, he conducted computational research to model Van Allen radiation belt electron acceleration.
