Maucher Jenkins is delighted to welcome new partner, Michael Jaeger, to the firm. Jaeger joins us from another respected firm of patent and trademark attorneys, and he specializes in telecommunications, medical devices, and space technologies.

Jaeger qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2006 and as a Chartered Patent Attorney in 2008. He graduated with a degree in Engineering Sciences from the University of Cambridge and subsequently undertook a postgraduate diploma in Communications Engineering at Birmingham University. Before entering the patent profession in 2002, Jaeger was fortunate to have acquired invaluable development and commercial experience in the field of telecommunications with Marconi.

Jaeger’s patent practice has spanned the fields of telecommunications, encryption, conditional access video transmission, robotics, and medical devices, including prosthetics. Jaeger has a deep understanding of satellite and space technologies and regularly attends industry events both in the UK and overseas. Jaeger has also assisted numerous clients with obtaining Patent Box corporation tax relief for their innovations. He has represented clients at numerous oral proceedings before the European Patent Office, including before the Boards of Appeal.

Jaeger has a wealth of experience in design protection. He has filed hundreds of registered design applications and dealt with numerous patent office objections, including at design hearings. He has been involved in many contentious design matters.

Jaeger is a member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys’ Professional Development Working Group and is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
