Forresters has strengthened its German and European credentials with the hire of Partner Michael Fischer.
Michael is a German and European Patent Attorney and a European Trademark and Design Attorney, specializing in electronics, computer-implemented inventions (CII), and telecoms. He joined Forresters from the Munich office of IP firm Venner Shipley.
Michael has almost 20 years of experience in IP, having worked in international law firms and as IP counsel at GE. He has also lectured on patenting CII inventions and given keynote speeches on the subject.
Michael’s hire follows that of German lawyer Andrijana Kojic, who joined Forresters as Senior Associate in September. Forresters’ Munich office now has eight IP professionals including three partners, three senior associates, and two trainee patent attorneys.
Partner Matt Barton, head of the Forresters Munich office, said: “It’s my pleasure to welcome Michael to our growing team in Munich. Forresters has had a presence in Munich since 1978 and, following the hires of Michael and Andrijana, our team is now stronger than it’s ever been.
Michael’s technical background adds to our breadth of expertise and complements that of the existing team in chemistry and life sciences. As a computer scientist, he will be of particular help in bolstering our expertise in this ever-growing and fast-evolving area of technology.”
Michael said: “I am more than happy to join Forresters and am looking forward to strengthening its presence both in Germany and in the fields of electronics, CII and telecoms.”
