Pre-eminent IP Lawyer and Managing Partner of Anand and Anand, Mr Pravin Anand, has been conferred with the prestigious Enduring Impact Award for his unparalleled contribution in the growth of the Asian Patent Attorney Association and its Indian Group.

The award was conferred at a ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where the Association members are also meeting for the 21st General Assembly and Council Meeting of APAA.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Anand reflected on his childhood dream of becoming a Patent Lawyer and went on to express that his dedication and love for IP (and patents) are so great that one lifetime is not enough.

Mr Anand applauded the APAA India Group, which has grown from a small group of just two members to approximately 430 members who share knowledge and friendship.

It is interesting to note that Mr Anand was the first General Secretary of the India Group and has been the longest-serving APAA member from India. He has gone above and beyond to lay the foundation of the APAA India group, be it organizing regular meetings or events. Mr Anand’s continued involvement has ensured that today, the APAA India Group is the largest single IP professional organization in India, constantly involved in improving the IP ecosystem in the country.

As the former president of APAA and AIPPI and former Director of INTA, he led several delegations to the GoI, leading to significant improvements in the IP ecosystem in India.
